Wooden boxes with carved, branded, brass inlayed flowers. Traditionally, the Polish wooden boxes were mostly either brown with branded, and brass inlay design or adorned with natural motives, mostly flowers. To this day flowers and leaves branded, inlayed and stained, are the major decoration of these jewelry boxes. The flowers designs on the Polish boxes are sometimes realistic, like the Edelweiss flowers, and most times stylized flowers, and leaves designs. They are added to the boxes by many of the techniques used to decorate the traditional Polish boxes, hand carving, or brass inlay, branding, and of course staining and lacquering.
