A 5" ball painted after Stanislaw Wyspianski, one of Poland greatest 20th c. painter. The painting was painted in 1904 and shows a nontraditional Madonna painted with many pastel colors. Defying old iconography the Madonna is attractive and young with a sweet baby facing his mother and not the outside world. The strong bond between the mother and child dominates the painting, and the floral decoration of her robe are unique among Madonnas paintings.
