4 1/2″ diameter round ball glass Christmas ornament. The ornament has an image of the St. Anne forest in winter. St. Anne forest is the forest covering mountain St. Anne, and well known hiking, camping, area in the Opole are of Poland, within a relatively short distance from Krakow where Pope John Paul II was based. The Pope was an avid sportsman, and spent time in the mountains, taking groups of his parishioners with him. Being in the mountains away from the city also enabled the Pope and his follower to be away from the control of the Communist authorities. The ornament done to commemorate Pope John Paul II visits to the mountain, and time spent in the St. Anne forest.
