A glorious glass Christmas ornament rendition of one of the largest most extensive and best preserved Tyrannosaurus rex specimens ever found.  The Chicago Field Museum dinosaur  Sue  nicknamed after the explorer and fossil collector who has found it,  and is popularly known by that name.  Dinosaur Sue was discovered in 1990 in the Chayanne river reservation in South Dakota. The living Tyrannosaurus rex  roamed the earth during the Cretaceous period about 67 million years ago.  It is currently exhibited in The Field Museum of Chicago where it has it own separate hall and is one of the most popular exhibits of the museum.  The ornament follows the recreation and reconstruction by the Museum  of the way Sue would have looked like in life. It has a very long body and tail which is almost 1/3 of the length of its body. Has two big strong back legs and two very short front legs. Its long neck carries a fearsome face full of sharp teeth to cut and eat the vegetation it was consuming, and burning reddish eyes. The folded skin is brownish with greenish glitter highlight. Dinosaur Sue is roaming through the plains of the Mid West her legs positioned on the grassland.  Magnificent ornament just like the glorious animal that roamed the earth so many years ago.

The daPolonia glass Christmas ornaments are designed and made in Mia’s studio in Krakow Poland. Steeped in centuries old traditions of glass ornaments making, drawing on the love of art and history, the ornament continues an old tradition of uncompromising quality and artistry.

The ornaments are fully made by Mia, and 100% hand made in the old fashion way. Starting with hand blown shapes and balls, hand silvering, coating with the base coat, and hand painting and glittering. The glitter we use is environmentally safe and is the same glitter used in cosmetics.  All the molds are proprietary created by our own mold maker.
