A magnificent Krakow Nativity known in Krakow as szopka krakowska by multiple times competition winner Freitag. The Krakow’s nativity has seven multi levels towers each combining  architectural elements from several famous Krakow’s landmarks. It is trimmed with pearls, colored beads and crystals. On the ground level is  an elevated stage  on which two towers reminiscent of the City Hall tower of Krakow stand . From the towers a  golden chain stretches cordoning off the Holy Family flanked on either side by a lamb and  a donkey.  A glorious copula  is above them reminiscent of the Wavel  copula, though some may say it’s the Wojtek’s chapel copula of Krakow’s central square or even the entrance to the St. Mary basilica.  Behind the Holy Family five multiple level church’s steeples rise, four culminating with flags – the white an blue of Krakow and red and white of Poland. The central tower sports the national Polish eagle with the golden crown, beak and talons above double crowns symbolizing the tradition of having the crowned steeple of the St. Mary basilica in the market square of Krakow in every Krakow nativity. Further down on the central steeple is the famous clock of Krakow square City Hall tower the only remaining part of original ratusz  first built in 1316. It sits on what looks the roof of the nave of a church sporting tow ornate flowers on either side of the steeple. All the steeples have beautiful stained windows, and the three central ones each has a balcony. The two outer steeples are based on the silver tower of the Wavel castle Cathedral formerly known as Wikaryska (vicar’s) or Dzonowa ( bell tower). The Krakow’s nativity is lavishly decorated all over with floral elements and is so artistically and visually pleasing. The attention to details is amazing. Krakow’s nativities have been part of UNESCO’s intangible world heritage since 2018.

The nativity is mounted on four tiny feet in all corners for added stability while being displayed.

Each Krakow’s nativity has some  small variation making each one  unique.
