Description

4 1/2″  diameter.

Round ball tree ornament of an angel from the frescos by Benozzo Gozzoli: The Procession of the Magi at the Medici-Riccardi palace in Florence. On a light green background a brilliant angel with vibrant orange wings, bright blue gown and brown robe and golden halo, holding a branch in her hand. The fresco was painted by Benozzo Gozzoli who was a pupil of Fra Angelico, whose influence can be seen in the brilliant lively coloration and the sweet face. Painted in the private chapel of the Medici’s in the mid 15th century, the painting has acquired greater fame than its creator whose name is not as well know. A wonderful image which will shine on any tree and that appeal to anyone with the sweetness of the angel’s face and vibrancy of its coloration.
